A man in his 40s is due in court today, charged in connection with a Garda JCB pursuit in the Carlow area earlier this week.

It’s after the vehicle was taken from the Tullow area, and Gardaí launched what they called a “managed pursuit.”

The vehicle was eventually stopped by Gardaí in White Mills on the Bunclody side of Ballon and the man was arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Road Traffic Act and detained in Carlow Garda Station overnight.

Carlow Gardaí charged the man yesterday. A video of the event has been widely circulated on social media.

He’s due before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
