A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the murder of Daniel Aruebose.
Gardaí have arrested the man on suspicion of murder and are detaining him under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin region.
Gardaí opened a homicide investigation into Daniel's death in December last year.
People last saw him around four years ago, but concern about his whereabouts did not emerge until last summer.
Tusla had interacted with Daniel’s family, but closed its engagement with his parents after a temporary fostering arrangement ended.
His case prompted Tusla to carry out a series of ‘well-being checks’ on thousands of files, as well as a rapid review of the boy’s case.
Gardaí recovered human remains on September 17th last year, which DNA analysis later confirmed were those of Daniel.
Investigations are ongoing.
