A popular and long-standing shop in Ferrybank is to close its doors in the coming weeks.

Proprietors of Spar, located on Fountain Street in Ferrybank, have made the ‘difficult decision’ to cease trading in early May.

In a statement issued on their social media, they referenced the difficulties of generating a profit in recent times.

“Unfortunately, the store has been experiencing a decline in profitability for some time.”

“Despite our best efforts, it is no longer sustainable.”

On behalf of proprietor, Aidan and the staff, gratitude was extended to their ‘loyal customers and suppliers.’
