Waterford City and County Council has urged the public to remain vigilant when travelling amid reports of localised flooding.
Heavy rainfall has led to surface water / localised flooding throughout Waterford City and County, with significant rainfall expected in the next few hours, flooding incidences are expected to increase according to Waterford City and County Council.
Ground crews have been deployed to deal with issues as they arise, such as localised flooding, blocked drains, gulley overflows, etc.
Waterford City and County Council advises the public to exercise caution as driving conditions may be hazardous, with further surface water flooding expected.
Motorists are reminded to be conscious of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
Incidents:
Gardai in Waterford are currently at the scene of road traffic collisions in Dungarvan between Collins Road and the Tycor Road, in Waterford City between the Paddy Browns Road and Tycor Road - and both roads coming out of Passage East are currently impassable on account of flood water. There has also been an oil spillage on the road leading to Carriglea from Dungarvan, while flash flooding has been reported in Ferrybank.
