The placement of vape shops in Tramore has been questioned. Local Councillor Joe Conway, raised the matter at a recent Metropolitan meeting of Waterford Council.
He questioned why a vape shop is located at a new plaza area on main street.
"In Tramore we have the advantage of having right in the middle of out public realm which we spent so much money on and right smack bang in the middle of it we have a vape shop.
"Im just wondering how does that tie in with harmonious planning and development in the middle of such a lovely part of the town."
Tramore’s town centre was transformed into a vibrant and connected hub, following an investment of approximately €5m from the Urban Regeneration Development Fund (URDF), Waterford City and County Council, and Uisce Éireann.
In response, a council official addressed Cllr. Conway's concerns saying the matter will be discussed in due course.
