Waterford City and County Council has received a planning application to build 24 new homes in Railway Gardens on Station Road, Lismore.

If approved, the project would involve demolishing the existing houses at numbers 30–35 and number 17 Railway Gardens. The new development would include 10 semi-detached two-storey houses, one detached bungalow, and 13 terraced houses.

The plans also include a new service road, footpaths, grass areas, public lighting, a two-metre boundary wall, and connections to public water, drainage, and sewer systems. Open space and links to nearby housing and existing services are also part of the proposal.

The application was submitted on 18 September 2025. The public can make submissions until 22 October 2025, and a decision is expected by 12 November 2025.
