Waterford playwright and director Jim Nolan has been presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
He received the accolade at last night’s Waterford News & Star Green Room Awards at the Theatre Royal.
The St. John’s Park native was recognised for his contributions to the local and national arts scene.
Speaking to WLR afterwards, he said he was “shocked and overwhelmed”.
“I’m very honoured. It means a lot to me – this is Waterford celebrating Waterford.”
He dedicated the award to “all of the people who have been part of my career – my family and all the people I work with”.
Jim Nolan’s recent play ‘Castel Gondolfo’ at Garter Lane was also awarded on the night.
