7 people with Coronavirus are still being treated at University Hospital Waterford.

The HSE figures from 8 o’clock last night show that there were no new cases over the previous 24 hours.

4 suspected cases are awaiting test results.

Two people remain in intensive care.

There are 135 confirmed cases in Waterford, as of midnight on Friday. That’s an increase of 6 cases since Thursday night.

Coronavirus restrictions may not be lifted at all – or only eased slightly – from next week due to serious concerns at the high number of new cases being recorded.

701 new cases of Covid-19 were announced here last night along with an additional 26 deaths.

The Health Minister says the strategy for easing the restrictions will be decided this week — but Simon Harris says he doesn’t expect a “big bang” moment on May 5th;

The number of cases of coronavirus across the world has passed three million for the first time.

More than 207,000 people have now died of Covid-19.

Almost a million people have been infected in the US and 55,000 have died.

In New York City alone, 17,300 people have lost their lives.
