Former workers from Debenhams are to receive a pay-out as agreed by the Labour Court this week.
Following the longest industrial dispute in Irish history, workers are to receive 4 weeks pay per employee.
Former Debenhams workers, including in Waterford, staged a 406-day picket outside stores across the country.
As reported this morning by The Irish Examiner, the pay deal follows a two-day hearing last February.
Following this hearing, the Labour Court upheld the decision of one of the Mandate Trade Union's claims against Debenhams Ireland.
The Court agreed that the consultation process did not comply with the law, by not commencing in a reasonable timeframe.
It was noted that Debenhams Ireland did engage in talks with employees for 30 days prior to issuing redundancy notices.
However, the consultation was found to be not meaningful, and waiting until the liquidator was appointed limited the options significantly narrowed for options for staff.
Mandate Trade Union is now in the process of liaising with liquidators on accessing the funds for staff.
