Visitor numbers to Waterford's museums have increased this year.
The Director of Waterford Museum of Treasures Eamonn McEneaney says the addition of the new virtual reality exhibition the King of the Vikings has helped boost visits.
An authentic viking house based in Bailey New Street, has also been built as part of the experience and aims to show people what life was like in Waterford during the viking era:
"They worked in their doorways and hoped passersby would buy their goods. They lived a simple life..and we're trying to recreate that".
Eamonn McEneaney says Waterford's Viking Heritage has been brought to life:
"The Bishop's Palace, the Medieval Museum and Reginald's Tower are doing very well."
He said the King of the Vikings exhibition compliments Reginald's Tower nicely by bringing the objects in the Tower to life.
