The commencement of further housing developments in Kilmeaden is expected in the near future.
That's according to Fianna Fail Councillor John O'Leary who gave an update to WLR News this week.
"There is a possibility there will be announcements in the next few weeks in relation to further developments in Kilmeaden," he said.
"There are negotiations taking place in relation to land opposite Clochan and Fan Glas. There is a lot of land available there and that will feature in further developments in Kilmeaden."
The area has already experienced significant housing construction in recent times which has been broadly welcomed locally but has placed increased demand on services and infrastructure.
A new group called the Kilmeaden Community Network is being established to cater for the growth of the area and develop an Action Plan. This will involve engagement with local residents and groups.
