Over 300 thousand students have returned to their classrooms this morning.
Leaving Certificate students and the first four years of primary school are the first to go back to school since the Christmas break.
At Cappoquin national school around 100 of the 193 students will be present. The school has two ASD units and 10 children returned to those classrooms last Monday.
Principal Martin Delaney said overall both the staff and students were delighted to get back, and although there was some apprehension he believes the phased return is sensible.
