
According to the Ireland Liveability Index, Waterford is the best county to live in on account of it being one of sunniest counties in the country, having reasonably priced housing, and being in the top 10 most scenic counties.
The Ireland Liveability Index ascribes scores to each of the 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland for the parameters that will influence people’s decision on the location of the ideal home. These parameters include house prices, sunshine, proximity to a city and natural amenity or scenery.
The individual scores of each county for house prices, sunshine, proximity to city and natural amenities were combined to give an overall ranking for each county.
County Waterford tops the overall ranking. It is one of the sunniest counties in the country, has reasonably priced housing, is in the top 10 of most scenic counties and inhabitants have access to the facilities of Waterford City. Wexford, Donegal, Cork and Clare round out the top 5.
