Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault which took place in the early hours of St. Patrick's Day in Waterford City.

They responded to a call-out at a residential premises in the Knights Grange area of Kilbarry on March 17th.

Following the incident, three people are reported to have been transferred to University Hospital Waterford.

Garda confirmed a male in his 20s received medical assessment and treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
