Gardai in Waterford are urging vigilance after a spate of rural burglaries in recent days.
The incidents occurred in West Waterford across Tuesday December 2nd, Wednesday December 3rd and Thursday December 4th.
On December 2nd between 8am and 4.30pm at Lyons Cross in Ballyduff Upoer a house was ransacked and a number of items stolen from the property, specifically some watches and a sum of cash.
On the same day in Knockaun in Ballymacarbry another burglary occurred between 2pm and 5pm when a number of pieces of jewellery were stolen from a house and a sum of cash in €2 coins.
Again on the same day, Tuesday, in Ballyduff Upper a third house was ransacked during the day and again items of jewellery and a jewellery box with glass inserts were stolen. This was discovered between the hours of 8am and 7pm.
The fourth burglary was an attempt on Tuesday at approximately 4pm in Kilanthony, Knockanore.
The home owner disturbed two males attempting to gain access through the side of the house.
Gardaí are looking for the public’s assistance in tracing a light blue vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen Jetta or Passat, which was observed in the area with three men, one heavy set and two others in their twenties.

Meanwhile, in Sheanbeg, Ballyduff Upper two more burglaries occurred between 5pm on the 3rd December to 9pm  on December 4th when two power washers were stolen from two milking parlours.
The first was a Eurojet diesel power washer  and it was mounted on a black frame with wheels.
The second one was a Honda GX390, again mounted, and this was petrol operated.
