
Investigations continue into yesterday’s plane crash in South Kilkenny.
Emergency services attended the scene, including Rescue 117.
Two people, a pilot and passenger, were onboard but there were no injuries.

In a statement to WLR yesterday, Atlantic Flight Training Academy said: “A Cessna 172 was routing back on a routine training flight towards Waterford when the pilot experienced a rough-running engine. He informed Air Traffic Control in Waterford and advised that he had identified a suitable landing site in close proximity. The pilot positioned the aircraft for landing and carried out a precautionary landing in a suitable grass field, in accordance with standard operation procedures, north of Waterford Airport. There were no injuries to either the instructor or the student.”
The Air Accident Investigation Unit is the lead agency in the investigation.
The incident comes after a small aircraft crash in November near Waterford Airport in which a man died.
Father-of-two Bircan Dokuzlar died when the light aircraft came down near Lisselan on November 20th.
The Vulcanair P68C went down at around 12.50pm as it approached Waterford Airport.
The plane travelling from Sligo to Béziers in France when it developed engine problems roughly 50 kilometres off the Irish coast.
