Gardaí are investigating a road traffic incident in County Clare in which an infant boy died.
It occurred in a residential area in Ennis shortly before 12:30pm this afternoon, Wednesday.
The infant boy was transferred from the scene to University Hospital Limerick and has since been pronounced dead.
Gardaí say a family liaison officer is being appointed to support the family at this time.

The scene in Ennis is currently preserved pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
