Gardaí say there has been an increase in thefts from cars across Waterford, with recent incidents occurring in Waterford City, Dungarvan and Tramore.
Gardaí have reminded people to ensure vehicles are locked and valuables are not left in vehicles overnight.
“We would encourage people to report any suspected crimes by phoning 999/112 or their local Garda Station. If you see something, say something, or use our audio messaging service on the confidential line on 1800 666 111,” a statement said this week.
Meanwhile, on January 17th, a van was damaged at Gracedieu Heights in Waterford.
The driver’s side window was smashed and the front windscreen was also damaged.
Two young males were seen on pedal cycles and Gardaí are looking to speak to these two youths.
If you can assist in identifying them or if you have video doorbell footage that may assist the investigation you are asked to contact Unit B at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300.
On the same night at approximately 10.55pm in Saint Herblain Park, a window in a house was broken and entry gained to the house.
A short time later the fire brigade attended the scene to extinguish a fire in the property.
“Again we asking people in this area with video doorbell to review their footage and submit anything that may be relevant to the Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station,” said Gardaí.
“If you have any information that can assist us please contact Waterford Garda Station or the Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
