A housing charity says they've helped prevent 34 adults and 32 children from becoming homeless in Waterford so far this year.
Threshold says that in total during Quarter 1 of 2023, they helped a record 1,262 households who were facing homelessness - including 27 households in Waterford.
Southern Regional Services Manager for the charity, Edel Conlon, says tenancy termination remains the biggest concern for renters since the eviction ban was lifted.
Speaking to WLR News, she says it's been a very busy time for them.
"The top ten issues we dealt with in Waterford were tenancy termination (33 per cent), rent reviews (13 per cent), standards and repairs (13 per cent), general rent queries (11 per cent), landlord or agent breach queries (11 per cent), general termination queries (7 per cent), and rent arrears (4 per cent)."
Meanwhile, over 50 per cent of Notices of Quit - that weren't due to a property being sold - were found to be invalid in Quarter 1 of this year.
Edel added: "People in Waterford can contact Threshold on 1800 454 454 and we also have a web chat function on our website www.threshold.ie
