There’s been a slight reduction in the number of people presenting as homeless in County Waterford.

The latest figures released by the Department of Housing show 114 adults were in emergency accommodation locally in March.

The number of people presenting as homeless in County Waterford has fallen from 120 in February to 114 in March.

The February figure was the highest since the same month in 2018.

Waterford accounts for the highest number of homeless people of any county in the South-East region.

324 adults accessed emergency accommodation in the South East last month.

Waterford had the highest number of people in emergency accommodation in the region, followed by Tipperary on 73 and Wexford on 53.

Carlow had the lowest on 40, followed by Kilkenny on 44.

There were 65 families in emergency accommodation in the region in March.

That included 107 children.

The figures were compiled between March 24th and March 30th.
