A HIQA inspection at a Waterford disability centre has outlined four areas of non-compliance.
An announced inspection was held at the Brothers of Charity Parkside Residential Services in Belfield on the 16th of October 2023.
The facility caters for 7 residents.
HIQA outlined non-compliance regarding notification of incidents as a restrictive practice that was not reported to the Chief Inspector.
Non-compliance was also highlighted with regard to risk management procedures as incident reports lacked details and did not always indicate if residents were impacted by certain incidents or not.
The report outlined non-compliance in governance and management protocols, having failed to address some of the findings of a previously announced visit in June of last year.
Relevant training relating to de-escalation was also provided but records reviewed suggested some staff had yet to undergo such training.
Meanwhile, an inspection was also held at the Brothers of Charity's Residential Services in Kilmacow on the 12th and 13th of October.
The report outlined non-compliance with regard to training and staff development, as well as in terms of individual assessments.
This facility also caters for 7 residents.
