Hiker airlifted from Waterford’s Comeragh Mountains

It was a busy morning for the Waterford based Coastguard helicopter.
They responded to a false alarm 70 nautical miles off the South East coast.
A fishing trawlers emergency beacon was transmitting however they found the vessel was in no danger.
The second incident was in the Comeragh mountains.
A hiker fell on Coumshingaun and sustained a leg injury. He was airlifted on board and brought to Waterford airport.
