The Helvick RNLI Lifeboat Rescue 117 helicopter and Bonmahon Coast Guard, were tasked this morning after a swimmer got into difficulty on the east side of Clonea Strand in Dungarvan.
Rescue services attended the scene at around 9 o'clock this morning when it was reported that a woman had been swept out by a rip current.
Fortunately, another swimmer came to the assistance of the swimmer and they both managed to reach the shore.
The woman was reported to be safe and well.
Helvick Head RNLI Lifeboat was stood down while on its way to the casualty to the scene.
Nicky Hannigan, Deputy Launch Authority, Helvick RNLI said: "The public are asked to avoid entering the water near the slip on the East side of Clonea Strand as there tends to be strong currents in that area and there have been a number of incidents.
"I would advise anyone to walk about 100 metres down the strand in the direction of the town side of the strand."
