A young swimmer has been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty in County Waterford.
The incident happened on Ardmore beach this afternoon.
The Waterford based Coast Guard helicopter responded and landed on the strand.
Rescue 117 was assisted by the fire service.

The swimmer has been brought to Waterford Airport from where they will be transferred by road to University Hospital Waterford to be checked over.
