The mother of 'Grace' has stopped co-operating with the commission of investigation into the HSE's handling of her daughter's case.
Grace, who has an intellectual disability, was placed with a foster family in the South East in 1989 and remained there until 2009, despite repeated allegations of physical abuse being made known to health officials in the mid 1990s.
Her mother, who lives in Britain was due to be interviewed by the commission which is chaired by Senior Counsel Marjorie Farrelly.
According to the Sunday Times her lawyers notified the commission that she would not engage further with it, claiming it had shown an unfriendly and unaccommodating attitude in its dealing with representatives of former residents of the foster home at the centre of its inquiries.
