The Irish Examiner reports that access to ‘Pembrolizumab’, a drug which has had positive results for Mooncoin woman Vicky Phelan who helped bring the scandal to light, may now be rolled out for others affected.

It’s reported that the drug, which is not currently licensed to treat cervical cancer in Europe, has led to a significant reduction in tumour size in Vicky Phelan’s case.

The government had previously said that it would assist women with medical expenses, and it’s been confirmed that this will now include Pembrolizumab.

It was revealed on Thursday that a further 30 women have commenced legal action over misdiagnosis of their smear test results.
