Google is hosting a free digital skills training day in Waterford on Monday.

The 'Grow With Google' programme is run in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and aims to provide digital skills training to business to help them realise their potential.

The event is being held in the Theatre Royal from 10:00am until 4:00pm and is free of charge, but registration in advance is required. You can register here.

Marie Davis is head of customer solutions for Google - she says it's a great opportunity to learn about their services:

"Businesses are looking for new customers so they are looking to grow.

"We run through all of the different free tools and free resources that are already available to businesses.

"We make them aware of them, train them in them so that they can use them to find new customers."

Marie says there will be talks and workshops

"We will be holding a series of talks which will give an overview of all these tools.

"Everything from Google Market Finder, which helps you find if there's an audience or customers abroad and how then you would plan a strategy to start exporting.

"To more local products which would help you find local customers as well."

Marie says one-on-one sessions with an account manager are also available.

"You can say to them anything from 'I don't have a website, how do I get started?'

"Or you can tell them 'I've got a really good website, I'm doing really well in Ireland, but I've always been interested in America. How do I find out if that's a good market for me?'

"The google account manager will sit down with you and help you build out a strategy or answer any of your questions on that."
