Gardaí are again renewing their appeal for information about a woman missing from Waterford City since December last year.
54-year-old Mary Ryan is 6’2″ in height, of slender build with black hair. It’s not known what she was wearing when last seen.
Sergeant Deirdre O’Neill is from Waterford Garda Station.
“Mary is a native of Waterford. She is quite distinctive in that she is quite a tall lady. She is very slender.
“She has quite a distinctive walk in that she has a very long stride.
“If you saw Mary, she would probably catch your eye, you would notice her.”
Sergeant O’Neill says Mary Ryan was last seen on the 15th of December.
“She is originally from Connolly Place, but she has also lived in Clonard Park and most recently in Closegate.
“The unusual thing about Mary is that she is a very private person, she has no mobile phone, she has a very small circle of family and friends.
“Trying to trace her last movements or her most regular movements has been a little difficult.
“We have had some nominations from members of the public but unfortunately none of them have turned out to be Mary.
“We would ask for people to keep a lookout for her. If you think you see her just give us a call here in Waterford or any Garda Station.”
Waterford Garda Station can be contacted on 051 305300.
Sergeant O’Neill says Mary Ryan’s family, her mother and her daughter are anxious to hear from her.
“Her daughter Megan is very keen for her to get in touch.
“If Mary is listening, or if anyone knows Mary, if they could just encourage her to contact the Garda Station just to let us know that she’s okay or contact her family.”
