Vandalism at the Knight’s Templar graveyard in Waterford City has been reported to Gardaí.

Two headstones in the historic graveyard were destroyed, which has caused huge upset among the volunteers who maintain the area in Kilbarry.

“We’ve had a bit of bother also with some of our flags being taken down,” said volunteer Maggie Moody.

“We can deal with that but to damage someone’s resting place is just disgusting.”
