Gardaí in Waterford have launched an investigation after two males robbed a man at knife-point on the city’s Outer Ring Road. The robbery happened on Sunday evening, March 8, at around 7.20pm. The victim was walking along the Outer Ring Road between the John’s Park roundabout and the Kilcohan junction when two males approached him on ebikes.

Suspects Returned and Demanded Jewellery

According to An Garda Síochána, the two males initially stopped and asked the man for the time before cycling away. However, they soon returned and demanded the man’s jewellery. When he refused, one of the suspects produced a flick knife and repeated the demand. The victim then handed over several items of jewellery, including a gold chain with a crucifix, a gold Claddagh ring, and a gold rigid bangle-style bracelet. Gardaí say the stolen items hold significant sentimental value. The suspects fled the scene shortly afterwards and travelled towards the Kilcohan area. Both males wore ski-type masks and spoke with Waterford accents. Gardaí described the first suspect as slim and believed to be in his early twenties. He rode a black ebike with a purple strip and wore a red and green jacket. The second suspect had a slightly larger build. He rode a black ebike and wore a dark grey Montrex jacket with grey tracksuit bottoms.
