Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident involving two dogs at a residential property in Callan, County Kilkenny, at approximately 3.00pm on today.

An infant boy sustained serious injuries during the incident and is currently receiving treatment at Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin. Medical staff do not believe his injuries are life-threatening at this time.

Scene Preserved for Examination

Gardaí have preserved the scene and are carrying out a technical examination as part of an ongoing investigation.

The local Dog Warden removed the dogs involved, and authorities are making arrangements with local veterinary services for their euthanisation.
