Gardaí are investigating a serious assault which occurred in Waterford City Centre at the weekend.

The incident happened on John’s Lane on Sunday morning at approximately 12.45am.

A woman was assaulted with a bottle and taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of injuries.
