Waterford pharmacies are being targeted by a gang of thieves.
That's according to Ronan Mulligan of Mulligan's Pharmacies, who says their stores on the Dunmore Road, in Kilbarry, and in Tramore have all been hit.
Speaking on Déise Today, Ronan says products worth a substantial amount of money were robbed from their Dunmore Road pharmacy on Sunday.
"In this particular instance, at 5:45 on Sunday, we lost €1,600 worth of goods," he said.
Ronan says the people are coming in in disguise, with masks, scarves, and hats over their eyes.
The group of females enter the store and help themselves to as much as they want, while threatening staff if they're confronted.
This means they cannot be identified or held accountable for their actions.
"We're really beginning to despair with the amount of stealing that's going on," Ronan said.
He is pleading with people not to buy the items if approached as they are being sold door-to-door.
"It's heartbreaking for our staff, we don't know how to deal with it," he said.
