A terrific second-half display did the trick for a resurgent Mayo who came from behind to secure a 48th Connacht title and a rare piece of Championship silverware at Croke Park.

Trailing by five points at half-time, the 2020 All-Ireland finalists looked in trouble but upped their game considerably after the break and blew their rivals away.

Camogie

Tipperary beat Limerick 2-20 to 1-11 today in Group 1 of the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship.

Cáit Devane and Miriam Campion scored the goals for Tipperary.

They will be joined in the knockout stages from Group 1 by Wexford, who recorded a 4-10 to 0-15 triumph over Offaly yesterday, with the remaining rubber between the sides determining who will finish top and have a chance of going directly to the last four.

In other Camogie results:

  • A Miriam Walsh goal broke the resistance of Westmeath as Kilkenny ground out a 2-17 to 1-11 victory.
  • Down followed up their desperately unlucky loss to Waterford last week with a better performance – they got within six points of Cork but it wasn't enough, the match finishing 1-13 to 0-10.
  • Waterford exacted revenge on Dublin, who relegated them to Division 2 of the National League, with a resounding 2-17 to 0-9 win at Skerries Harps.
