There are fears over the future of a golf course in Waterford.
The local authority is to consider carrying out a review of Williamstown Golf Course, with a view towards converting part or all of it into a public park.
Located on the outskirts of the city, the 130-acre grounds is owned by Waterford Council and is the only publicly owned golf club in the southeast.
Green Party Councillor Jody Power says the course should remain as is. He says the course is still popular and believes a lot of people are opposed to the move.
A motion on the issue is scheduled for a Waterford Metropolitan meeting Monday 20th July from Councillor Mary Roche, who requests " That Waterford Forward Planning Unit will undertake an examination of the Municipal Golf Club with a view to establishing a Public Park and playground in the grounds."
