Further delays are expected in the development of Waterford Airport.
This comes as Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan is said to be unsatisfied with the information received by the government in the business proposal.
It was originally hoped that ground would break on the anticipated development in the final quarter of this year.
However speaking on WLR's Deise Today, former Waterford Airport board member Cllr. Jim Griffin says Minister Ryan is set to delay the process.
"He still concluded yesterday that he is not happy with the last business proposal that went up. He is going back to the board for more additional information."
According to Sinn Féin councillor Jim Griffin, Minister Ryan spoke with Sinn Fein Health Spokeperson Waterford TD David Cullinane.
In that conversation, Minister Ryan says he has questions that are unanswered and he is therefore not happy with the proposal.
It is Cllr. Griffin's belief that these questions will further delay the development at the airport, meaning the business case will be questioned until at least September.
This, he says, makes the prospect of breaking ground this autumn highly unlikely.
Cllr. Griffin has called on Waterford Green Party TD Marc Ó Cathasaigh to speak with his party colleagues on the matter.
This, he says, will stop an endless email thread, and bring some resolution to the airport case.
