
Funeral details have been announced for murder victim Ian Walsh.
The body of Mr Walsh (49), originally from Kilcohan, Waterford was discovered at his home in Ravenswood, Carrick-on-Suir on August 4th.
Following the results of a post-mortem investigation Gardaí commenced a murder investigation.
The death notice of the Irish Rail worker states that he was predeceased by his father Philip and grandparents.
He will be “forever missed by his heartbroken mother Breda Forristal, his brother Paul and Paul’s partner Rachel.”
The notice adds that he “will be sadly missed by his uncle Mick Forristal and family, godmother Marian Butler, his work colleagues at Irish Rail and his many friends at Bus Éireann.”
Ian is “fondly remembered by Mary McCahill wife of the late Philip Walsh and Aishling Fogarty, extended family and his large circle of friends.”
Funeral arrangements
Reposal will take place at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, on Monday August 11th from 6pm to 8pm.
Cremation will take place in the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Cork on Tuesday 12th August at 3pm.
Investigation ongoing
Gardaí are continuing investigations and have asked that anyone with any information come forward.
This includes any road users who were in the area of Cregg Road, Carrick-on-Suir between 8pm on Friday 1st August, and 3.30am on Monday 4th August.
