A 5k Walk and Talk takes place in Clonea Power tomorrow (Sunday) in aid of the upkeep of Mothel Abbey and Holy Well.
It's hoped the event will further promote the history and heritage of the local area.
The walk starts at the newly renovated Clonea Power Parish Hall at 2pm
Local historian Pat Murphy will speak about the Abbey.
Organiser Geraldine Houlihan says the event is based on the popular Mothel Pattern of years gone by.
"The Pattern of Mothel was a big day for people," she says. "Up to 1,000 people came along and it was a lovely family day."
This is the second year of the newly established event and Geraldine hopes it will further showcase the beauty of the local area.
"Last year, it was lovely to see so many families taking part," she says. "We really have it all on our doorstep."
