Motorists across Waterford are experiencing significant disruption today as fuel shortages lead to long queues and delays at service stations across the county.
In Tramore, heavy queues have been reported at Pickardstown Service Station and Tramore Service Station, with concerns that supplies are running low. Certa in the area is also seeing particularly high demand.
In Waterford city, Holy Cross Service Station is experiencing some of the worst congestion, with queues stretching beyond the roundabout. Traffic is also heavy in Ballybeg and Ardkeen, as well as along Paddy Browne’s Road and Cleaboy.
Along the Cork Road, Autoport has run out of diesel, while other forecourts remain extremely busy, with roadworks further adding to delays.
Elsewhere in the county, Kilmeaden service station has also reported being out of diesel, while long tailbacks have formed at Applegreen in Lemybrien.

The surge in demand is being driven by motorists rushing to fill their tanks amid fears of further shortages, leading to increased costs and frustration, with tempers reportedly running high at a number of forecourts.
