Four Waterford secondary schools have made The Sunday Times "Best Schools Guide Top 400".
Two of the schools are Irish speaking schools - with Meánscoil San Nioclás placing highest in Waterford, in 106th place.
The second Irish Speaking school was Ard Scoil na nDéise in Ballygunner, in 379th place.
Elsewhere across the county, Blackwater Community School in Lismore secured 367th place, while St. Augustine's College in Dungarvan was 321st on the list.
Colaiste Íosagáin in Booterstown, south Dublin was ranked as the best school in the country.
Sunday Times Best Schools Co-Compiler, Colm Murphy says girls' schools continue to lead the way:
"The main finding is that we have a new top school in Ireland it is Coláit in Booterstown in Dublin, the non-fee paying all girls Irish speaking school topped the list with 96% progression to University over the past 3threeyears.
"In the top ten schools in the country - eight of them are all-girls schools which shows that continued dominance of girls-only schools at the top of the rankings in terms of academic performance."
