Former talk show host and journalist Michael Parkinson has died.

The former journalist's chat program Parkinson, which debuted on the BBC in 1971 and ran until 1982, made him one of the most recognizable faces on British television.

In 1998, he reintroduced the program on the BBC. In 2004, it relocated to ITV, where it remained until he ended production in 2007.

The presenter revealed he was receiving radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer in 2013. and said he got the all-clear from doctors two years later.

The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
