A planning application related to the former King's Bar at number eight, Lombard Street has been submitted to Waterford City and County Council.

Wesley Whelan Limited is seeking a change of use of the existing derelict pub to short-stay tourism accommodation consisting of thirteen ensuite bedrooms along with a reception area.

In February last year, the property was added to the Derelict Sites Register by Waterford Council.

The front façade of this building is a protected structure.

There have been recent calls from local councillors to address dereliction on Lombard Street, with the facades of some premises attracting criticism from local councillors.

Submissions can be made by May 2nd, with a decision due on May twenty third.
