The popular Butlerstown establishment, The Holy Cross, which Bobby and Eileen Bohill ran for over 30 years, has now changed hands, with well-known publican and businessman Gareth McCarthy confirmed as the new owner.
It truly marks a fond farewell and a fresh beginning at the Holy Cross for one of the area’s most loved social hubs.
John Rohan of Sherry FitzGerald successfully managed the sale on behalf of the Bohill family, guiding the transition with care and professionalism.
The Holy Cross has built a strong reputation for its food and beverage offering and has long stood as a popular venue for private functions, celebrations and social gatherings.
Ideally positioned beside Butlerstown GAA Club, the property also benefits from its proximity to the IDA Business and Technology Park and UPMC Whitfield, making it one of the most strategically located hospitality venues in the area.

The premises comfortably caters for up to 140 patrons and includes parking for approximately 150 cars, further strengthening its status as a major local social and hospitality destination.
With excellent potential for further expansion and development, the next chapter for The Holy Cross now begins under Gareth McCarthy’s ownership — bringing new energy, fresh ideas, and exciting possibilities for the future.
