Significant levels of flooding have been reported throughout County Waterford following heavy rainfall overnight.

The county was subject to a Status Yellow rainfall warning from Met Eireann from 6pm on Thursday evening until 12pm midday on Friday.

Excess surface water has been reported on the N25 by Cushcam Cross and on approach to Lemybrien, while there is also excess surface water and spot flooding between Orchardstown Cross and Kilmeaden village.

There has also been flooding reported at Sweetbriar in Tramore, as well as in parts of Ballygunner toward Dunmore East.

Significant spot flooding has also been reported in Kilbrien and in the Knockeen area of Butlerstown.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care and to expect difficult travelling conditions.
