Five drivers caught more than 30kmph over the speed limit during Waterford checkpoint

Five drivers are being penalised after being caught speeding in Waterford.

Gardaí from the Roads Policing Unit were conducting a speed detection checkpoint on the N25, which is a 100 kilometre-per-hour zone.

All five cars were travelling at 130 kilometres and above - with one clocked at 161 kilometres per hour.

Gardaí say fixed charge notices have been issued to them all.
