Final Appeal to repatriate late pastor David Asiimwe to Uganda

A final appeal has been made to help repatriate the body of a man who lived in Waterford city.

David Asiimwe died in a single vehicle crash on the M9 near Knocktopher last month .

A GoFundMe page has been established by his friends to help cover the costs of returning David's body to his native Uganda.

So far they have managed to raise over half the seven thousand euro required.

David Mutebi is Chairperson of the Uganda Community in Waterford. He says family members are waiting there to pay their respects to the 46-year-old.

"I want to thank all the people who have helped us make the donation. Most of the amount is now raised, almost €4,000 is already raised. We need €2,000 to see the body repatriated back to the family, back to Uganda.

"We are appealing for the public to help us to see that our brother is being repatriated back to Uganda. The wife is waiting and even the family back home is waiting for their son."
