A Waterford TD has called for assurances when it comes to capital funding for the North Quays.

Waterford council received 6 million euro in November of last year in order to begin the project, with additional funding to be made available this March.

The local authority had applied for over 20 million euro in the first tranche, as part of the 103 million euro in overall government funding needed.

Speaking in the Dail, Fainna Fail’s Mary Butler called on the government to confirm it’s commitment to the project.

In response, Minister of State for Housing and Urban development, Damien English, said the Waterford project remains a priority.
