A developer is seeking to extend previously granted planning permission which could lead to the development of 98 homes in the Ferrybank area.

The development had previously been given conditional planning permission from Kilkenny County Council in 2020.

Original permission was granted to Michael Doyle Civil Engineering Limited in June 2020 for 98 units at Abbeylands.

The 98 units were to be made up of 36 3-bed two-storey semi-detached homes, 30 4-bed two-storey semi-detached homes and a block of 32 apartments.

The applicant also proposed that 15.5% of the site would be designated as a public open space.

A new application has been made under the name of Ninety Eight FB Houses Ferrybank Limited on May 30th to extend the previously granted planning permission for the site.

A ruling is expected from Kilkenny County Council on or before the 24th of July.
