The ESB is holding a webinar this evening on a proposal for a major development of wind farms off the Waterford and Cork coasts.
There are seven different offshore projects planned for various distances off the coastlines of the two counties.
Councillors and elected representatives are expected to take part in the webinar on ESB's proposed Helvick to Dunmore Offshore Wind project to be located 10km and further out off the coast of County Waterford.
The online information meeting for invited guests comes under the title of 'Helvick Head Offshore Wind.'
Energia is planning another wind farm in the same location.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Eamon Quinlan has struck out at what he says has been misleading information from Energia.
"When asked by Councillors to move them out to 25km, which would be the European norm, we were told that would not be possible. We have now received the ESB's plans for not only themselves but a total of 7 wind farms, from 5 different companies, 4 of which are proposed to be floating platforms far out to sea running the length of Cork and Waterford," he said.
Councillor Quinlan also said that councillors were repeatedly told the proposed Energia wind farms couldn't be moved further from the coastline, but now there is four other ones proposed for out there.
