Three units of the Waterford Fire Service, along with gardaí are responding to the incident which happened at around 5 o’clock this evening.

Emergency services were notified that a car was on fire on the top floor of the Aldi carpark in the The Glen, and the supermarket was evacuated.

No injuries have been reported and gardaí are not yet sure of the cause.

Traffic access to The Glen has been heavily restricted, Penrose Lane is currently closed and there is no access from Bridge Street.
